An introspection in working with a B2B assembly, quality, and logistics service as an industrial web development and production team.
Establishing a Path of Design
Building a network has a lot of moving parts, and quickly reveals itself an intricate webbing of process, each piece telling a deeper pattern within the greater patterned story. Whether or not a process is linear, the great story of manufacturing designs hints to denser details, those details can make or break the functionality of a cycle, and the cycle we (VNTG) were called to orbit and evolve was the matronal webbing of Matrix Quality Services. MSQ speaks to the story of many moving parts, like a puppet stage creating an illusionary story of mechanics, movement, and sequence, they are entrenched in the workings of product-development, processing, and transport. The trick is how to encapsulate many strings of movement into one digestible unit, for synergy in exchange and relational value. It was time for our team to gather our ends, and start tying a meticulous knot to bridge their physical-moving and developmental world, with the lightning-quick digital atmosphere. This is a common theme for us, and here’s what the web reveals of the story.
Pieces In the Labyrinth
We knew clarity visually and textually, and higher ranking SEO— weaving to their contact waypoints, was a goal in our journey with MSQ. Their day-to-day hands-on work had many different points of service, and purpose; so we dove into our viewfinders to gain a clear map of their workings. Doing-it-live as Peter Mckinnon would say; no shotlist, just relational knowledge of the brand, a tour and spark-notes intel of the goal for the video, followed by the mission to warm formerly cold sales channels. Essentially the intent. We say this to say, sometimes there isn’t a pretty process of getting the “full picture” of a system without just diving in, and personally witnessing it; the excursion was just that, and it was time to go deeper.
As we mentioned earlier, the everyday work of MSQ is logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, and quality services. Our angle for the production team was showcasing their manufacturing capabilities (efficiency, cleanliness, quality level), aligned with the quality services, and to the vast level of space of viable warehousing.
Our scheming began in assembly and quality; what we discovered were sectioned out portions of people, machines, and robots working on intricate building pieces; blocked-out throughout the first brightly-lit warehouse. From wide angles, to closed-in viewpoints, we found intricately netted processes unfolding before us. Machines and robots swiftly moving, drilling, measuring, and inspecting product-pieces, partnered by people working together the flow to string together the nodal-web of transformed pieces. To do this requires a considerable amount of space, opening us to the second warehouse, the warehousing wing.
It’s a large warehouse, “how do we portray that in an interesting way?”, was our starting point. A “large warehouse” full of space was too basic for textual description for being memorable, and when showing visually to connect attention, it requires a unique angle. Therefore, it was our time to work our movement and angles, moving on-foot and in-air, capturing the depth and density of possibility of our environment. Bringing to light the spacious and curated storage space to offer clientele. The MSQ web does not end there, we continue on to the stream of logistics and overall business, which turns us back in time, spiraling us to our web development team.
Back to the relational knowledge mentioned before, our team was tasked with developing a website to level up MSQ’s digital trade and footprint. Bringing the story of the matrix of processes to the digital interweaving of design and mechanics to the internet. This meant the bread and butter of digital real-estate for a brand, creating a landing platform, synthesizing its synopsis, establishing authenticity, and routing channels for the points of contact. Bringing this together with the future work of the production team, we collaborated on a well functioning platform with port-points to initiate digital informational, relational, and monetary exchange in their world of service.
Examining and Routing Conduits
At the end of the day, MSQ wanted to increase their visibility, and to increase their sales, just like the majority of growth-mindset companies. This intention brought them to the cross-section of the physical and digital world, and this was our introduction to the story. Webbing together as an element in their pursuit, we alchemized their digital presence on the internet, helping MSQ to a multi-dimensional aspect of their business and journey; bringing a digestible tonic to the world of development.
